Misun Kim is a Republican candidate running for an At-Large seat on the Charlotte City Council in the upcoming November 4, 2025 election.

 

 

Born in GoChang, South Korea and raised in Seoul, she immigrated to the United States in 1991 and has proudly called Charlotte home for over three decades. As a single mother of two adult children (ages 24 and 26), Misun understands the challenges working families face and brings a deeply personal perspective to public service.

Since 1992, Misun has been a small business owner, with a professional background spanning retail and commercial real estate. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kwangwoon University in 1988 and currently serves as Director of the Korean American Consulting Group. With 22 years of experience as a commercial realtor, she brings a global lens and practical expertise to local governance.

Misun previously ran for Mayor of Charlotte in 2023. Now, she’s focused on serving the entire city through a values-driven, community-centered approach to council leadership.
